Sergeant Jonathan Woodworth
SGT Woodworth graduated high school in Canton Ct in June of 1993. In May 1994 he
went into the US Navy attending basic training in Great Lakes IL.
During his time in the Navy he served on three US Warships the USS THE SULLIVANS DDG 68 in Mayport FL, to which he is a Plank owner of, the USS COLE DDG 67 in Norfolk VA and the USS YORKTOWN CG 48 in Pascagoula MS. During each tour on these ships he deployed to the Middle East in support of on going operations in that theater of operations.
Shore tours consisted of being assigned to the Navy’s Absentee Collection Unit where he tracked, located and returned US Navy deserters back to the jurisdiction of the military. For this duty he was stationed for three years back in Great Lakes. His final duty station was at Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL where he was assigned as base security where he oversaw a patrol division of military and civilian DOD Police.
While stationed in Pensacola he volunteered to deploy to Kuwait with an Army Infantry Unit. During this deployment he assisted in training the Army personnel in Force Protection and Anti-Terrorism efforts. This was a 9 month deployment.
SGT Woodworth was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer before finally being honorably discharged in April 2009.
In June 2009 SGT Woodworth was hired onto this department as a Patrol Officer. In August 2009 he attended the Police Standards and Training full time Police Academy class 150. He graduated from the police academy in December 2009.
In December 2010 the position of Sergeant came open and after applying for the position SGT Woodworth was promoted to Sergeant. His duties include being the supervisor for the Patrol Officers, the firearms instructor, and the prosecutor. He is currently pursuing a degree for bachelor of science in Criminal Justice Administration.
