Chief Marcel E. Platt
Marcel started his career with the Northumberland Police Deparment in December 1992 as an officer. He attended the100th New Hampshire Police Academy in Concord New Hampshire in April 1993 completing it in June of 1993. In February 1994 Marcel joined the ranks of the Lancaster Police Department as a patrol officer. In April of 2004 Marcel returned to the Northumberland Police Department as the Sergeant. During his time as a patrol officer Marcel attended numerous training classes, to include Prosecutors school, basic drug, and Field Training Officer to name a few. Marcel also secured grant monies for two project since his return to the department. The first project was to put computers in the patrol cruisers so officers would be able to check plate numbers, drivers licenses and warrants helping with officer safety. Secondly a records managment system. This included setting up a small computer network within the department. Marcel was promoted to Chief of Police in October of 2008. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and working out.
