The Northumberland Police Department proudly serves a community of 2,228 (2010 Census) full-time residents. Its located in Coos County and is surrounded by the towns of Lancaster, Stark, Stratford and Odell. There are 35.7 square miles .08 miles of inland waterways to include the Connecticut river and Ammonoosuc river. State routes 3 and 110 run through Northumberland leading to Concord south and Pittsburg north. The area is traveled heavily for those looking for places to ride snowmachine and ATV's.
